Small Originals, Big Impact: Why I Love Painting Mini Artworks

There’s something truly magical about working small. People often assume that the emotional weight of an artwork comes from its scale, but for me, some of the biggest stories happen on the tiniest surfaces.
My mini originals and hand-painted notelets began as a playful way to loosen up in the studio, to paint without pressure or expectation. But over time, they became something more: little windows into colour, emotion, movement, and joy.
Each one is a complete artwork in itself; intentional, layered, and full of feeling, only distilled into a more intimate, small-format moment.

Why I Love Creating Mini Artworks
They encourage play.
Working small helps me let go and follow my instincts. No big plan, no pressure of an outcome from the beginning. No overthinking. Just colour, feeling, and flow.
They capture emotion instantly.
In my mini pieces, every brush stroke counts. Each one feels like a snapshot of the mood I am working with - joyful, calm, curious, wild - whatever the day (or season!) brings.

They’re truly accessible originals.
Not everyone is ready for a large investment piece, but everyone deserves to own original art. Minis make that possible and can be a great gateway into filling your space with intentional pieces over time.
They make beautiful gifts!
Hand-painted notelets feel deeply personal - a thoughtful message paired with a one-of-a-kind artwork, something that can be treasured or even framed.
They still contain my whole artistic voice.
Small doesn’t mean simple. These pieces hold layers of colour, movement, texture, and emotion, just like my larger works. I have had a few conversations over time about creating larger versions of my seasonal mini's and the roses but for now I think these little snapshots are perfectly proportioned.

Why They Make a Big Impact in Your Home
Mini artworks are perfect for shelves, bedside tables, gallery walls, or gifting. They can warm a corner instantly. They bring personality into small spaces and can offer a gentle way to start collecting original art.
Small size, big soul is my aim!
