Why Exhibitions Matter: Finding Space to Share Art

As an artist, one of the biggest challenges I face is finding opportunities to share my work. The online world is wonderful in many ways, but it’s also incredibly busy and loud. Sometimes it can feel impossible to cut through the noise and help people really see the art.

That’s why exhibitions like Hot Numbers are so important. They create a space where I can bring my paintings out of the studio and into the real world—where you can stand in front of them, experience their texture, and take in their energy in a way that’s never quite the same online.
A Chance to Connect
For me, exhibitions aren’t just about showing work. They’re about connection. When you step into a gallery space, it becomes a shared moment—between artist, artwork, and audience. Conversations spark, ideas are exchanged, and sometimes, a piece finds its forever home!

Why It Matters
Selling art at exhibitions is also vital for small businesses like mine. Original paintings are my livelihood, and having opportunities to share them in person makes such a difference. Beyond sales, though, there’s a sense of validation. It’s easy to work away quietly in the studio, but when others respond to the work, it’s a reminder that what I create matters—that it speaks to people in ways I could never plan or predict.

Celebrating Hot Numbers
Being able to showcase at Hot Numbers as a solo exhibition has been an absolute joy. It’s been a chance not only to share my art but also to connect with others who value creativity and expression. For those of you who’ve stopped by or supported from afar—thank you.
If you’re local and haven’t yet, I’d love for you to pop in before the exhibition closes on the 18th October. And if you’re further away, don’t worry—there are always new works appearing online, and hopefully more in-person opportunities to come too.
Let me know if you have any fabulous ideas about where I could showcase my art next! I'm all ears and looking for my net opportunity.
