Thanks so much for stopping by the blog—it truly means the world to me. I’m Jade, and I’m so excited to share a little about myself and how Alma Cara Studio came to life. Whether you’ve just stumbled across my work or you’ve been following along for a while, I hope you’ll find joy here—and maybe even a special piece to call your own.

A lifelong love for creativity
I’ve always had a creative spark. From a young age, I was happiest with a pen, quill, or paintbrush in hand—whether doodling in notebooks, experimenting with calligraphy, or colour-coding my study notes just to make them look beautiful. I didn’t always realise it, but looking back, I’ve spent my whole life finding ways to make the everyday a little more aesthetic, a little more artful.
Even in my earlier career, I found myself problem-solving through design—instinctively looking for ways to make things not just functional, but visually pleasing too. That’s simply how my brain works, and over the years I’ve learnt to lean into it and let that love of design filter into all areas of my life.
Rediscovering art
Six years ago, I left my office job to run my other creative business full time: Bitesize Bakehouse. Over the past eight years (some of these whilst working full time at the beginning), I’ve built an award-winning home bakery creating wedding cakes and postal treats across the UK, while raising two wonderful children.
Running a small business gave me the freedom and confidence to explore other creative passions that had been waiting in the wings—and before long, I found myself drawn back to art. It began with creating pieces for my own home, but I soon realised I wanted to make art for other people’s homes too. There was such a joy in knowing my pieces could bring a sense of calm, texture, and beauty to someone else’s space—and I’ve never looked back.
That passion has led me to where I am now, co-creating Alma Cara Studio with my sister, Paris. Together, we’re building a space where creativity, craftsmanship, and a love for thoughtful design come together.

Why I create
When you buy a piece of my art, you’re not just buying a decoration—you’re investing in something made with intention. I believe in creating pieces that last, that grow with you, and that align with the values of the slow fashion and interiors movement. I hope every artwork I create brings you joy for years to come, becoming part of your story and your space.
So whether you’re here to browse, looking for something specific, or just enjoying the process of discovering art—thank you for being here. Feel free to reach out if something speaks to you, or join my newsletter so you’re the first to know when new pieces arrive.
Let’s see what I can create for you…
