Hello, I’m Jade
Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m Jade; a lover of texture, tone, and colour - all the things I believe help make a space feel alive.
My work is about creating art that brings warmth, calm, and personality into your home, and hopefully a little joy into your day too. At the moment I am drawn to exploring how I can capture fleeting moments and quiet emotions through my practice. I am often inspired by the sea, the sky and the spaces in between. My aim is to slow those moments down and hold that feeling on the canvas long after the moment itself has passed.
If you’ve landed here with a cuppa in hand and a few minutes to spare, you’re very welcome to read on and find out a little more about me. Or, if you’d rather jump straight in, you can head to the shop to see my latest work or over to the blog for behind-the-scenes thoughts, process, and inspiration.

When art is a way of life...
I think I’ve been dabbling in art in one form or another for as long as I can remember. As a child I played with calligraphy pens and filled pages with doodles. Later, I would re-write study notes simply because I wanted them to look better - colour-coded, carefully laid out, and uniquely mine. Organised creatively, always.
As I grew up, “art” as a practice was put on pause, but creativity never left. It showed up in how I reimagined rooms in our home, how I approached problem-solving at work, and how I instinctively made things more visually pleasing just so they felt easier to live with.
Design-led thinking has always been my default (whether I have realised it or not), balancing how things work with how they feel. That instinct now sits at the heart of everything I do, from painting to consulting.
Leaning into my creativity
My office-based career ended over seven years ago, and since then I’ve been running my other business, Bitesize Bakehouse, full time.
Over eight years (there was some overlap balancing employed & self-employed life for a while!), I’ve grown an award-winning, home-based bakery around family life that saw me creating wedding cakes and sending chocolate and marshmallow treats all over the UK.
That business has been an incredible creative outlet: sketching bespoke designs, working on styled shoots, and building seasonal collections. But perhaps its greatest gift was time - time in the 'in-betweens' to slow down and return to painting without a plan or expectation.
Art came back quietly at first. Just colour, movement, and space to play. What began as pieces for our own walls soon grew into work for other people’s homes, and with that came a new freedom.
Painting for different spaces and stories allowed my work to open up ...and once I started, I haven't been able to stop!
That journey has eventually led to building Alma Cara Studio, which I now run as a shared creative space rooted in intention, warmth, and connection.

Creating With Purpose
Currently, I am drawn to capturing moments in time that feel fleeting but that I want to dial in on and hold on to for longer. This is often expressed in seascapes and skyscapes and sometimes completely abstract pieces that hold a feeling on the canvas.
I want my art to feel considered and lasting - part of the slow interiors movement rather than something rushed or trend-led. My hope is that each piece grows with you, moves with you, and quietly becomes part of your everyday life.
If something here speaks to you, I’d love you to reach out. I’m always happy to talk through a piece, arrange a viewing, or explore a commission inspired by something you’ve fallen in love with.
And if you’re curious about the wider creative work I do (from business strategy and UX design to helping founders simplify and shape how their businesses work) you can find more about that side of my world here. It’s all part of the same thread: thoughtful design, clarity, and creating things that work beautifully in real life.
Have a look around. Take your time. And if nothing clicks today, feel free to join the newsletter.
The right piece has a way of finding you when the moment’s right.
